Westlake Park
Downtown Seattle, WA, July - Sept. 2013
"Chromatic Crystallization (Seattle)"
corrugated plastic & vinyl
20’ x 24’ x 7’
This temporary "crystalline" installation, created from corrugated plastic and colorful vinyl appears to grow over the park's northern arch. The vinyl's slick surface and vibrant hues reflect the flashy exuberance of the commercial center surrounding the park. The installation activated this urban park with a burst unexpected color and 3D pattern inviting viewers to rediscover their every-day surroundings in a new way.
This project was made possible by the City of Seattle 1% for Arts Fund in cooperation with Seattle Parks & Rec and the Office of Arts & Culture
